One Tool One Stool is a project for design students to discover more potentialities of a tool, then choose a material to build a stool with a height of 40cm. The tool here is iron rulers, which were one of the most vital tools in my previous job, and the material is a heavy duty garden hose.
Although both materials are very flexible, they
complement each other and are self-contained, so as to create a sturdy stool. The stool is constructed by swirling a 30m-12mm hose into a cylinder. The layers of hose are then supported and cramped by four 30cm iron rulers, which are bent into a clamp shape on both sides.
